Northern Beaches Youth Group or NBYG is where the young people come and belong.
Fridays - 6pm - Dinner included.
All of Christ
in all of life.
NBYG is for High School aged students (years 7-12).
We hang out for dinner, games, worship and sharing on Friday nights in school term.
Most weeks we are at Forest Baptist Church (Forestville) but sometimes we have activities offsite. Please always check and follow our term calendar to know where we’ll be.
When and who?
Our Leaders
We have a passionate group of young people, who are overseen by the staff team of Forest Baptist Church.
All our leaders have valid Working With Children checks and have completed Creating Safe Spaces training
Maddi, Toby, Ali, Andre and Phoebe will be there each week to welcome and hang out with the young people at NBYG.
Special Religious Education
Each week, members of our Youth team teach Special Religious Education (SRE) in high schools across the Northern Beaches and the upper North Shore. SRE gives students the chance to question, explore and discover the Christian faith for themselves — to think honestly about faith, meaning and life in a place they're already part of.
Our team is accredited and authorised by the Baptist Association of NSW & ACT, and we teach the approved SRE curriculum. SRE is opt-in, and students take part with their parents' consent.
Where and when you'll find us:
Davidson High School — Mondays
Manly Selective High School — Mondays and Fridays
Killara High School — Wednesdays
Hornsby High School — Mondays
Asquith High School — Tuesdays
Forest High School — Thursdays
Our SRE ministry is overseen by Tatenda Chikwekwe, Associate Pastor – Generations. If you have any questions about SRE or your child's involvement, you're welcome to get in touch with him here.
Forest Baptist also serves on the board of the Forest Association for Christian Education (FACE) and works with Anchor RE in Mackellar. We're working towards running seminars in each school, supporting student-led lunchtime groups, and launching a camp for Northern Beaches students. You can find out more about partnering financially in the ministry of FACE here.
