What To Expect

Sundays at Forest Baptist run from around 9am through to late morning and the gathering starts before the service does.

From 9am - Prayer and Coffee

If you arrive from 9am, you’ll find people already here. Some gather for a time of prayer before the service begins. Others arrive for coffee and conversation. It’s an unhurried way to arrive, and a genuinely easy way to meet people before things get started.

Ever wondered what to wear? That’s pretty normal! At Forest, most people come dressed pretty casual. Think lunch with friends or family BBQ style. If you like crocs, wear them! And if you’re going straight to a sporting match - come in the jersey - it’ll make for great conversation!

9.30am - The Service

The service runs for about an hour and is relaxed and informal. You’ll find a mix of ages, backgrounds, and life stages — people who’ve been part of church their whole lives and people who are exploring faith for the very first time.

We open with music that draws us back to what matters most, sit together in a time of prayer that reconnects us to the One we’re trying to follow, and hear a message from the Bible that’s honest, practical, and connected to ordinary life — less about having all the answers and more about learning together what it looks like to follow Jesus in the week ahead.

On the first Sunday of each month we share Communion — a simple, ancient practice of bread and juice that sits at the heart of Christian community. If that’s not your tradition or you’re still working out what you believe, you’re welcome to simply observe.

There are activities for kids throughout the service, and families are welcome to stay together too. Find out more about Forest Kids.

After the Service - Morning Tea

For those who can linger, we have morning tea together in the café space — coffee, food, and unhurried conversation. It’s often where the best discussions happen.

On the last Sunday of each month we also host a Newcomers Lounge — a more intentional morning tea where you can meet the staff and leaders, ask questions, and get a feel for Forest Baptist at your own pace. No pressure, no pitch. Just a chance to connect.

Come and see for yourself

Whether you’re working out what you believe, returning to faith after a long time away, or simply curious — there’s a place for you here. Jesus said it best: “come along and see for yourself”.
